FAQs

Pure Maintenance of Colorado

  • I'm having Pure Maintenance service my home. What should I do to prepare?

Your home must be unoccupied during our dry fog treatment, so please arrange accommodations for yourself and your pets during the service. We'll send you a confirmation message 24 hours before your appointment with specific preparation instructions. These include straightforward tasks such as opening all closets, closing windows, and setting your fire alarm system to test mode.
  • Do I need to take paintings and wall art down before the treatment?

Due to the dry nature of our fog treatment, Pure Maintenance of Colorado has never experienced damage to wall art or paintings. However, some clients prefer to remove valuable artwork or cover it with blankets for peace of mind. Please note that brass and genuine silver items may oxidize and tarnish, though this can be polished out later. You may choose to cover or remove these items beforehand.
  • What about fruit or other foods left out in the kitchen?

Any exposed food items and semi-permeable food packaging must be removed from the area or stored in sealed containers.
  • How long before I can re-enter my home?

Treatment duration varies based on your home's size and the extent of remediation required. Our Pure Maintenance of Colorado team member will provide you with the expected timeframe when we submit your treatment estimate. Upon your return, you might detect a slight odor that will fade within approximately 36 hours.
  • Is it safe?

We appreciate this important question. Our chemicals are potent and may cause eye, skin, and respiratory irritation if you're present during application without proper protective equipment. However, once we clear you to return to your property after treatment, there's no risk to you or your pets. Medical professionals actually refer patients to us because our InstaPURE process uses active ingredients - hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid - that appear on the EPA's Safer Choice listings. All our technicians receive comprehensive safety training and use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling treatment chemicals.
  • Will it get behind my walls and in my ceilings?

Our proprietary technology produces particles measuring 7.5 microns. Since mold spores range from 4 to 30 microns, our fog particles can reach anywhere typical spores can penetrate. In cases where we've identified issues behind walls or in ceilings and the drywall remains salvageable, we can create small 1/8 inch holes between studs to treat interior wall or ceiling cavities.
  • Will I need to clean everything after the treatment?

No additional cleaning is required. Our treatment process doesn't leave any visible or detectable residue, leaving your home and belongings clean. Simply continue your regular weekly cleaning routine to maintain a healthy, dust-free environment.
  • Does it kill bugs?

While insects don't tolerate our dry fog well and numerous clients have reported pest elimination, the EPA hasn't registered our products as insecticides. Therefore, we don't make specific claims regarding insect control.
  • What will the mold look like after the treatment?

Existing mold stains won't disappear from the dry fog treatment alone. We'll address visible mold growth removal as part of our comprehensive remediation estimate.
  • How long does it last?

Our EverPURE process delivers verified protection for up to 90 days. When moisture and water problems are completely resolved and the building stays clean, this could provide a permanent solution. If needed, we can reapply the treatment every three months for ongoing protection, which we suggest for high-traffic areas, or if odors, mold, mildew, or staining reappear. Keep in mind that significant or extended water intrusion events will compromise the antimicrobial effectiveness and void warranties.
